In winter NW-N-NE winds prevail. In summer NW winds prevail. Storm winds over 15 m/s most often occur in winter (up to 10 %).
Ice conditions occur only during severe winters, usually in the middle of December or the first half of January. Normally, the port gets free of ice in the second half of February or in early March.
The territory of Ust-Dunaisk port covers 15 hectares, its water area totals 60 ha.
The port's sea entrance canal is 7 km long and leads to three anchorages for large tonnage ships where passable depths have been lost by present time. Another connecting canal with the length of 1.5 km leads from the port's harbor into the Prorva Canal.
